Glass engraving, or wheel engraving is a over 400 years old art of refining glass and crystal, which is still done in the same way today.
I cut with different wheels
a relief like design with my lathe
out of the glass.
Each piece is individually drawn and engraved.

DICHROIC GLASS JEWELLERY
Created in Australia by TRUDY GAUTSCH
Dichroic glass is a multi-layer coating placed on
glass using a highly technical vacuum deposition
process. The coating is made of vaporized
metal oxides and macro quarz crystal powder.
The coating has as many as 30 layers, yet the
thickness of the coating is only 35 millionth
of an inch, and looks very similar to gemstones.
The jewellery is fired and/or fused on very high
temperature. Each piece is individually made with
great care and the best intentions for the bearer.
